Collecting the evidence for this unit

Your performance evidence must show that you have covered all of the statements in the You must show that section in each element.

Your assessor will need to be satisfied that you have the necessary understanding specified in each 'K' list. Where this is not evident from your performance, you may be asked oral or written questions, or to write a short report.

It may be difficult for you to produce evidence for this unit, during the course of your normal work. Your assessor may accept other forms of evidence, such as answers to questions, a log you have kept of how you have handled incidents in the past, witness testimony from your manager, or your performance during a fire drill.

You may need to provide other information to support your performance evidence. Here are some examples:

  • The job details
  • Samples of materials
  • Samples of products
  • Samples of running faults as they arise
  • A written or spoken report describing faults, their causes and how you corrected them
